What Will 2021 Bring?
LifeBridge Partnership had an interesting 2020 and we are resolved to making the most of 2021!
In 2020, we learned a few things about ourselves. We learned that we are flexible, resilient, and creative. In March we suspended services and converted our programs to a virtual format within a couple weeks. During that time of virtual programming, we developed a safe social distancing assessment and interventions so clients could safely resume accessing the community during the summer months.
When in-person programming resumed in July, we approached planning so that clients could experience community life virtually or in-person. These options were available whether by personal choice or by government mandate. It was no surprise in mid-November when we flipped back to only virtual programming, our staff did that without a hitch.
This creative, flexible program model will be part of LifeBridge programs long after the pandemic ends. So, whether it’s a pandemic, bad weather, or something else that keeps a person home, our clients will be able to stay connected to their LifeBridge family.
Our primary focus has been and will continue to be facilitating our clients’ pursuit of meaningful and inclusive community life. Whether we are partnering with them to develop skills, build relationships or learn about what’s happening in our community, we hope they develop connections that enrich their lives and increase their independence. We will accomplish this goal through the hard work of our staff, partnering with community volunteers, and collaborating with community groups and other service providers.
Together we can positively impact the lives and raise awareness about disabilities in our community. Please help us by contributing to our mission in 2021. Go to https://www.lifebridgestl.org/ to learn more or donate.
