Ringing in the New Year

As you ring in the new year with family and friends, I encourage you to consider ways you can connect with each other and the broader community throughout the year. After your countdown parties, ball drops, and celebratory toasts, here are just a few ideas for individuals of all abilities, with an emphasis on inclusivity and social connection:

Scavenger Hunt: Host a scavenger hunt in a park or community center with inclusive tasks everyone can enjoy. Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center has accessible trails and great indoor exhibits.

Vision Boards: Gather with friends to create a 2025 Vision Board. Use magazines, markers, photos, and stickers to create boards showcasing your hopes and dreams for the year.

Glow-in-the-Dark Party: When the weather warms up, throw a glow-in-the-dark party in your backyard or at an area park. Use glow sticks, neon paint, and black lights to create an exciting sensory-friendly experience for all ages.

Cook Together: Host a baking or cooking session where everyone contributes to making tasty snacks, a full meal and/or sweet treats. While you are gathered around the table enjoying your creations, have everyone share something they are thankful for.

Game Night: Enjoy an evening of fun and games. Set up board games, play charades and card games, or test your trivia knowledge. Up the competition by offering prizes.

I hope 2025 is a year filled with endless opportunities to spend time with family and friends, exploring our community. Here's to embracing new beginnings, cherishing special moments, and building stronger connections with those around us!

Cheers,

Karen Schuster, CEO
